Dear Coastal Christian School community,
My name is Tom Olmstead, and I have humbly accepted the position of Head of School for Coastal Christian School for this 2017-2018 school year. I am honored to be asked by your servant-hearted board of directors, who have been shepherding this important work, to join the CCS family starting in July. My family, comprised of my wife, Christy; eighth-grade son, Luke; seventh-grade daughter, Jocelyn; and third-grade son, Levi (grades for this coming fall) and I are delighted in joining with Jesus and all of you in the work that’s going on here. It was evident to us that God is at work at CCS to awaken students further to His presence, knowledge, wisdom, love, grace, and truth. It was also plain to see that God is building momentum to enlarge your impact on the Five Cities area you primarily serve to bring His light and truth.
I love that a focal point of emphasis for CCS is to bring transformation. My hope is that we will strengthen a partnership as a community of disciples of Jesus, allowing God to do the important work of life transformation. No one does it better than Him! I have been blessed for the past 21 years to serve in a head administrator position for the same school in Illinois. However, California has been home for both of us, me in my childhood and Christy in her college years and young adult years. I also received my Master’s degree from California Baptist University in Educational Leadership. We have always kept in the back of our minds a desire to return to our roots and get closer to our families. My wonderful experience in the Midwest allowed me to see the impact that can be had on minds and hearts of this generation when a team comes together. I hope and pray that the lessons and experiences gained from this previously held position will serve to further enhance the CCS community.
God is trustworthy, and we believe that He will help us chart a course together that will enlarge the scope of His influence through CCS. I would appreciate your prayers as we wrap things up in Illinois, move everything, and adjust to the CCS culture. We are already praying for you. Hope you have a blessed summer, and I look forward to meeting all of you!
